Before Koichi starts work in Tokyo, he and his mother, Reo, go on a trip to a hot spring. Reo's husband declines the family trip because he is busy with work. In fact, her husband has been having an affair, and Reo worries about it alone. Seeing his mother's depressed expression, Koichi gradually begins to see her as a member of the opposite sex. Torn between the bond between parent and child and the feelings of a man and a woman, Koichi seeks Reo.
